Mayday Creates Space to Support Movements, Social Justice Activism, and Community Events in Bushwick

This February, the Floret Coalition is supporting MayDay. Mayday is an organizing center and social hub in Bushwick, Brooklyn, that turns movement priorities into program offerings; it hosts over 150 power-building groups each year for trainings, meetings, and celebrations. Its innovative model exemplifies the solidarity economy—promoting a shared sense of stewardship and giving people a platform to make their mission-driven projects happen, including mutual aid food distributions, anti-gentrification organizing, and free arts and music programming for BIPOC community members and youth.
